How to take part?
Many want to try but don't even know where to begin with. When they see successful attempts of a brother-in-arms, they say: why this idea didn't occur to me? Somebody wants to help a sick friend or relative but doesn't know what exactly to offer. If you want to show how you struggle (or could do it) with illness via art - please share your inspiration with those who need it right now.
What one has to do for participating in theproject?
1. Get one of the 1000 journals that are now in circulation. Write to the address: yana.battleinside@gmail.com and you will receive one by mail. Or maybe you will get the email address of someone who has already done with his or her pages and wants to deliver the journal to the next participant.
If you are lucky enough you have found one of our journals there where we left them: in a hospital, in a doctor's offise, at a public place.
You also could find a journal in your area through our blog.
2. Paint 1-3 double pages in a journal. Write and draw, depicting your fighting spirit in any form. You can make any picture describing a battle scene or your unbridled wellness. Ungrounded optimism, incurable high spirit, self-glorification and pride about any victories are very welcome. Amaze other participants with your fantasy and creative imagination! Moaning in pictures as well as complaints, dark thoughts and visualization of fears and horrors are strongly forbidden!
Don't forget to mention your name or pseudonym and location. It's interesting for everybody how our journals are traveling in the world. You can indicate your email address as well, but be considered that it will be shown to thousands.
3. Scan your work with 300 dpi resolution and send the file to the address: yana.battleinside@gmail.com. It will be published in our gallery within 24 hours. Big files must be packed in *.zip or *.rar.
Attention! Nobody knows when and where we would see this or that journal next time. Save your work for yourself and humankind. Remember that many participants and observers are waiting for your pictures: they need your ideas and moral support right now.
There is no need to make a photograph of your double page: a scanned picture is always better. If you take a photograph with a digital camera, the quality would be not good enough. Even an expensive DSLR camera is not a guarantee, because a real journal is uneven. A good lense would make parts of the picture unsharp, because of the different distances.
4. Write down the data of the next person who took the journal from you and share with us this minimal information. Then in case of missing the journal we could try to find it.
5.Please give the journal to your friend, acquaintance, comrade. If you are in a hospital now and someone shows an interest in project - invite them to participate and let them get a journal. If you don't know anyone who want to continue to work in your journal, you can find the next one in our blog or write to us, and we will inform you about somebody in your city who need it or otherwise we ask you to return the journal to us. If you worked with the last page in a journal, inform us, , and we would contact with you ASAP!
